Jobcamp DC!

What the heck is JOBCAMP DC?

JOBCAMP DC!, will be a daylong event that will give local hiring professionals an opportunity to use their talents and expertise to assist those on the job/career hunt.

The ultimate goal of JOBCAMP DC! is to engage and cultivate supportive exchanges between job seekers and job experts in a casual environment to adequately transfer useful jobsearch skills and tools. It is not a job fair where organizaitons set-up booths. It is not a nerve racking and pressure building interview setting. In addition to speakers, JOBCAMP DC! will offer resume reviews, practice interviews, social media training, speed networking, industry huddles, elevator pitch practice and free headshots.

Who the heck will be organizing JOBCAMP DC ?

This posting is to serve as an official call for organizing members, sponsors, and presenters. I am looking for close to 20 talented HR professionals to initially lend their skills and knowledge.

  • Based upon the fundamentals of openness layed out by the founders of the Milwaukee JobCamp, JOBCAMP DC! will spread the honored ideals of volunteerism to the nation’s capital. That’s right, the overall goal of the event will be to make it completely voluntary (pro bono) in focus, and cost nothing to attendees.
  • The hope for JOBCAMP DC! is to unite the Washington DC HR community in the common goal of lowering the local unemployment rate by providing leadership and lendng our skill-set to those in search of the ever illusive job offer.
